3 things to do to keep high vibrations

Be grateful!

Haven’t we heard that already …. See, here’s the thing. When I first started dating my beau I pretty quickly noticed a terrible habit of his: he was reading the news, you know, the ones with all the terrible things that are happening in the world right now, and which is worse – he was constantly bringing up in a conversation what he had read.

As a firm believer of positive psychology, positive thinking, not watching the news or reading the newspapers because they know that bad news sell and that’s what they give… it was a nightmare for me. Do you have someone like that in your life?

I was seriously considering to end things with him. But then, one day, out of the blue, I had this thought stuck in my head about just how lucky I am to be born in the free world, to feel secure, to feel happy. There’s so many people in the world who are not so lucky. And that’s where it all shifted for me. Now I am not afraid from the news. I still don’t read them but I have someone who does that for the both of us.

1. Whenever you read or hear bad news about the world we live in, or someone from your circle tell you about the news, what you can do is: stop for a moment and think how lucky you are to not be in this situation. Be grateful for what you have.

2. Whenever negative news are brought to you through the newspapers, the news, online, through a friend … think of the people who are in it and send them Love and Light.

Do it as an act of selfless service to them. And most importantly: don’t tell anyone you did it. Just send them your positive vibes and good wishes, even if they crossed over, and forget about it.  Your vibrations will know where to go and who to help.

Wishing good to people you don’t even know without expecting anything in return is a spiritual practice.

In fact, you may already have experienced in your life the effect of someone wishing you all the best from all their heart, without wanting or expecting anything in return. Have you?

See, it won’t cost you more than a good thought sent towards that person in the news and a moment of your time. Yet, it may make a huge difference. You may never know how your good vibes affected someone’s life, and you don’t have to. That’s why it’s called: selfless giving.

3. The third practice that I want to tell you about is: prayer.

I am a believing Christian and at the same time I am genuinely fascinated by what other people believe in. What I have found out is that all religions have one thing in common: they praise and pray. To be honest, not every day I go to bed with a prayer. And if you are not that into the holy scriptures of your religion, you don’t have to.

BUT, there is one big but here. I’ll try to explain it in scientific terms here and if you are spiritual, you’ll find between the lines what I want to say really. There are studies which have shown that people who spend time before bed to work on their attitude of gratitude keep a positive outlook in life.

Change happens from the inside out.

All the therapies in the world are focused on changing the thought patterns and models of behavior in the subconscious. Studies have shown that your last thoughts before you go to sleep influence your whole outlook on life. So, there you go. Find your bed time technique and do it every time. Do it for yourself! It’s for your own good. You can pray, you can say affirmations, you can write a gratitude journal. Whatever feels comfortable to you. Right before you go to sleep is your direct change to influence and re-program your subconscious.
